Result

Booking time fell from four minutes to forty seconds.

The goal

Saltgate runs four ferries between six small islands. Most tickets were sold on the dock, in cash, twenty minutes before sailing. The company wanted riders to book from the road.

What I made

I mapped every step a rider takes, from choosing an island to showing a ticket on the pier. Then I designed a three-tap flow and a ticket screen that works with no signal, and tested it with eleven regular passengers.

What changed

In the first season 62 percent of tickets were booked in the app. The crew stopped carrying cash floats, and the dock queue at the busiest island dropped to a few people.
